JANDELSBRUNN (dpa-AFX) - Caravan and motorhome manufacturer Knaus Tabbert has increased its sales to more than one billion euros for the first time. Last year, the Lower Bavarian company earned 1.05 billion euros, an increase of 22 percent compared to 2021. This was announced by Knaus Tabbert on Tuesday in Jandelsbrunn on the basis of preliminary figures. Accordingly, the company sold 18,130 caravans and 11,426 motorized vehicles, the order backlog amounts to 1.3 billion euros.

The fourth quarter went particularly well, with sales of 356 million euros, 128 million more than in the same period last year. Knaus Tabbert plans to publish its profit figures at the end of March, but these are not likely to be quite so pleasing for the company.

The board had already lowered its expectation for operating profit in 2022 last summer, triggered among other things by the sharp rise in material costs and delivery problems. "Further statements on the 2022 forecast remain unchanged," the statement said. Net profit in the first three quarters was 7.1 million euros, just over a third of the previous year's level./cho/DP/men
