EAST GREENVILLE, Pa. (AP) _ Knoll Inc. (KNL) on Wednesday reported a first-quarter loss of $3.8 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The East Greenville, Pennsylvania-based company said it had a loss of 8 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 4 cents per share.

The workplace furniture and textile maker posted revenue of $264.2 million in the period.

Knoll shares have risen 62% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $23.85, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
