Knowit the first Nordic company to join Digital with Purpose during COP26 Published 08 Nov 2021

During the Glasgow COP26, Knowit was the first Nordic company to join Digital with Purpose - an initiative from the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI), in which international corporate leaders band together to accelerate and spread digital technology and the climate solutions that the world needs.

The aim of the Digital with Purpose initiative is to create business value, realize the facilitating power of digital technology, and meet the requirements and ambitions necessary to fulfil the UN SDGs and the Paris climate agreement by 2030. Knowit's President Per Wallentin signed the agreement during the climate conference in Glasgow (COP26). The agreement means that Knowit is taking yet another step towards its vision of contributing to a sustainable and humane society.

- We see this initiative as a strategic part of our work to realize the full potential of digitalization as a facilitator when it comes to delivering the climate solutions that the world needs. Knowit has long experience of assisting our clients in both optimization of existing systems and transformation to more sustainable solutions with the help of digitalization, says Per Wallentin.

Knowit is already part of the UN's global climate initiative Race to Zero through its partnership with the Exponential Roadmap Initiative. The partnership means that Knowit is acting in line with the 1.5°C Business Playbook and will thereby continuously support clients to integrate climate into business strategies and digital transformations. The goal is to contribute to halving global emissions before the year 2030, on the road to net zero, and to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees.
