Kobe Bussan Co. to open hotel in New York to offer relatively cheap pricing and Japanese 'omotenashi' traditional hospitality. The company plans to spend some JPY 7 billion to build the seven-floor hotel with about 90 rooms in Manhattan, slated to open in summer 2017.

It will have a Japanese garden and a restaurant offering 'washoku' Japanese cuisine. Kobe Bussan expects the hotel to be a place where people can interact with each other and become familiar with Japanese culture including washoku.
