Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) has been selected for the 2021 CDP Supplier Engagement Leader in the Supplier Engagement Rating by CDP, an international nonprofit organization working to achieve a sustainable economy.
Konica Minolta has been promoting the Green Supplier Activities to provide suppliers with know-how for reducing environmental impact while reducing costs. In the activities, Konica Minolta's environmental experts visit production facilities operated by suppliers, make improvement proposals including the cost reduction effect and need for investment, and promote activities to reduce the environmental impact in cooperation with suppliers.
Since 2020, we accelerated our efforts by launching DX-Green Supplier Activities, which enables suppliers to conduct energy conservation diagnoses and implement measures by themselves, even without Konica Minolta's experts visiting the site, using energy-saving diagnosis tools that digitize the know-how of the company's experts. As a result, in fiscal 2020, a total of 29 companies, including six new companies, were implementing Green Supplier activities, and 14 of these companies had achieved their Green Supplier Activity targets, which are equivalent to the level of the Konica Minolta Sustainable Factory Certification Standards.
Konica Minolta will work with many more suppliers to rapidly expand the efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and costs throughout the supply chain.
