Brill, the international scholarly publisher, has signed an agreement with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) to publish a new Open Access journal. The journal, entitled Al-Markaz: Majallat al-Dirāsāt al-ʿArabiyya (The Centre: Journal of Arabic Studies), will be published by Brill as of 2022.

Al-Markaz is a peer-reviewed academic journal covering the best of current research on Arabic language, literature and culture, publishing two issues per year, fully in Arabic. It covers a chronological from before Islam to contemporary times. All contributions will be published in Diamond Open Access with Brill: the article is immediately available in Open Access, without a fee from the author (or their institution).
