On December 25, 2024, Korea Zinc announced that its board has proposed resolutions aimed at enhancing shareholder rights and values, including the introduction of cumulative voting, which would protect minority shareholders and ensure board diversity. The Company stated that MBK Partners and Young Poong have opposed these proposals, revealing their frustration and concern over potentially losing control of the board. Despite initially supporting cumulative voting, the consortium is now opposing its adoption, indicating that their primary goal may be to take control rather than genuinely improve governance.

The board added that it remains committed to implementing measures such as quarterly dividends and stock splits to attract investors and enhance shareholder value. Additionally, Chairman Yun B. Choi has also expressed a willingness to collaborate with all shareholders for the company's growth, despite facing aggressive tactics from the consortium.
