Marc-Alexander Burmeister new CEO of Korian Germany

Physician to drive forward strategic development

Munich, August 30, 2021 - As of September 1st, Marc-Alexander Burmeister will be appointed CEO of Korian Germany and member of Korian Group Management Board. He will be in charge of accelerating the expansion of Korian Germany in the outpatient care segment and of developing targeted medical care offering in order to better support chronic patients both at home and in dedicated care facilities.

Having started his career as an anaesthesiologist and intensive care physician at the University Hospital of Hamburg, Marc-Alexander Burmeister has been serving since 2003 in various management positions for the pharmaceutical and medical device company B. Braun. Most recently, he served as Country CEO of B. Braun in France and lastly in Germany. Marc- Alexander Burmeister brings extensive expertise in the development and the management of clinical and outpatient care service offering.

Arno Schwalie, who served as CEO of Korian Germany since 2017 and successfully developed the company as the leading player in the senior care segment, will devote himself to new challenges outside of the Group.
