KOSÉ Corporation reported consolidated and non-consolidated financial results for the year ended March 31, 2018. For the year, on consolidated basis, the company reported net sales of ¥303,399 million, operating income of ¥48,408 million, ordinary profit of 48,408 million, profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥30,611 million or ¥536.63 per basic share and ordinary profit to net sales of ¥16.0% compared to net sales of ¥266,762 million, operating income of ¥39,160 million, ordinary profit of 39,564 million, profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥21,657 million or ¥379.66 per basic share and ordinary profit to net sales of ¥14.7% a year ago. Return on equity was 17.6% against 13.9% for the same period of last year. Net cash provided by operating activities was ¥34,918 million against ¥17,327 million for the same period of last year. Profit before income taxes was ¥48,242 million against ¥39,425 million for the same period of last year. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was ¥9,939 million against ¥10,941 million for the same period of last year. Purchase of intangible assets was ¥1,001 million against ¥585 million for the same period of last year.
For the year, on non-consolidated basis, the company reported net sales of ¥135,893 million against ¥120,516 million a year ago. Operating profit was ¥11,481 million against ¥8,320 million a year ago. Ordinary profit was ¥20,021 million against ¥15,017 million a year ago. Net income was ¥14,893 million or ¥261.09 per basic share against ¥10,070 million or ¥176.54 per basic share a year ago.
For the first half of year ending March 31, 2019, the company expects net sales of ¥154,500 million, operating profit of ¥25,000 million, ordinary profit of ¥25,300 million and profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥14,600 million or ¥255.94 per share.
For the year ending March 31, 2019, the company expects net sales of ¥323,000 million, operating profit of ¥52,000 million, ordinary profit of ¥52,400 million and profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥32,300 million or ¥566.23 per share.
KOSE Corporation is a Japan-based company principally engaged in the manufacture and sale of cosmetic products. The Company operates in two business segments. Make-up segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of products under the brands of KOSE, Sekkisei, ESPRIQUE, COSME DECORTE, Predia, INFINITY, JILLSTUART, ADDICTION, CLIE, ALBION, tarte, among others. Cosmetry segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of products under the brands of Visee, Fasio, ELSIA, softymo, SUNCUT, CLEAR TURN, Stephen Knoll New York, Nature & Co, among others. The Company is also involved in the manufacture and sale of amenity products, the leasing of real estate properties, the manufacture and export of materials, as well as the original equipment manufacturing (OEM) business.
