Kubota Corporation reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2021. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was JPY 540,235 million compared to JPY 472,624 million a year ago. Net income was JPY 43,678 million compared to JPY 36,898 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was JPY 36.16 compared to JPY 30.46 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was JPY 1,641,640 million compared to JPY 1,356,794 million a year ago. Net income was JPY 146,628 million compared to JPY 96,468 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was JPY 121.38 compared to JPY 79.31 a year ago.
Kubota Corporation specializes in the manufacturing and marketing of industrial and agricultural machines and water purifying and distribution equipments. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- industrial and agricultural machines (84.9%): tractors, harvesters, transplantors, mowers, etc.;
- water purifying and distribution systems (13.9%): ductile cast iron, steel and plastic pipes, valves, recycling pumps, incinerators, ceramic filters, used water purifiers, etc.;
- other (1.2%): industrial pieces, steel tubes, building machines, etc.
Net sales break down geographically as follows: Japan (27.4%), Asia (18.5%), North America (37.3%), Europe (13%) and other (3.8%).
