Renewed the "Eco-First Commitment" with the Japan's Minister of the EnvironmentAs an environmentally advanced company, we will make further efforts for conservation of the global environment

December 27, 2021
Kubota Corporation

Kubota Corporation (Head Office: Naniwa-ku, Osaka, Japan; President and Representative Director: Yuichi Kitao; hereinafter, "Kubota") has renewed its "Eco-First Commitment" and has been re-certified as an "Eco-First Company" by the Japan's Minister of the Environment. As an environmentally advanced company, we will make further efforts to achieve our new targets.

The Kubota Group wishes to be a corporate group that contributes to the development of society and the conservation of the global environment in the field of food, water, and the environment. We place the greatest importance on environmental conservation in our business management and continue the efforts for it.

Kubota was first certified as an "Eco-First Company" in 2010, and was subsequently re-certified in 2014 and 2017. In 2017, we pledged to work toward achieving the Medium-Term Environmental Conservation Targets for 2020 and the Long-Term Targets for 2030.

As we achieved the Medium-Term Environmental Conservation Targets for 2020 out of the commitments we made in 2017, we reported on the results of our activities and made new commitments based on the Medium-Term Environmental Conservation Targets for 2025 and the Long-Term Targets for 2030. As a result, we were re-certified as an "Eco-First Company" by the Japan's Minister of the Environment.

The renewed commitment focuses on efforts to build a decarbonized society and aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 across our value chain.

Eco-First Mark

The "Eco-First Commitment" refers to a commitment by a company to the Japan's Minister of the Environment concerning its own environmental conservation initiatives, such as measures against climate change, waste and recycling. If a company's commitment is evaluated to be advanced in the industry, it is certified as an "Eco-First Company." It was established by the Japan's Ministry of the Environment in 2008 to promote corporate environmental initiatives.
