L'Oréal is the world leading cosmetic group. The group offers skincare products (35% of sales), makeup products (26.3%), haircare products (14.9%), hair colouring products (10.1%), fragrances (9.3%) and other (4.4%). Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- consumer cosmetics (42.7%): L'Oréal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline New York, NYX Professional Makeup, Essie Niely, Dark and Lovely, Mixa, MG and Carol's Daughter brands;
- luxury cosmetics (36.9%): Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Kiehl's, Urban Decay, IT Cosmetics Shu Uemura, Biotherm, Helena Rubinstein, Yue Sai, Clarisonic, Atelier Cologne Ralph Lauren, Viktor&Rolf, Diesel, Cacharel and Maison Margiela brands ;
- professional products (11.5%): L'Oréal Professionnel, Redken, Matrix, Kérastase, Pureology, Decléor Shu Uemura Art of Hair, Carita, Mizani and Baxter brands;
- active cosmetics (8.9%): La Roche-Posay, Vichy, CeraVe, SkinCeuticals, Roger&Gallet and Sanoflore brands.
Products are marketed through mass distribution and distance selling, selective distribution, hair salons and pharmacies.
At the end of 2019, L'Oréal has 39 production sites worldwide.
Net sales break down geographically as follows: France (8.3%), Western Europe (19.4%), Asia/Pacific (32.3%), North America (25.3%), Latin America (6%), Eastern Europe (6.4%), Africa and Middle East (2.3%).
