L3Harris Technologies Inc. has received a 10-year, $947 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to improve defense systems for B-52 aircraft.

Under the contract, L3Harris would improve the aircraft's electronic-warfare self-protection, adding a radio-frequency system to counter anti-aircraft threats.

The company has worked on electronic-warfare components of the B-52 bomber for more than 50 years, L3Harris said.
