L3Harris Technologies Inc. has named Christopher Kubasik its chief executive, fulfilling a transition plan that was part of the 2018 merger agreement between Harris Corp. and L3 Technologies.

Mr. Kubasik succeeds William Brown, who served as chairman and CEO since the merger closed two years ago. Previously, he was the CEO of Harris. He will now serve as executive chairman.

Mr. Kubasik had been L3Harris's operating chief. Before the merger, he was the chairman and CEO of L3 Technologies. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kubasik was the chief operating officer of Lockheed Martin Corp.

As he becomes CEO, Mr. Kubasik will also continue as vice chairman, the company said.
