L3Harris Technologies Inc. on Wednesday said it received a request for additional information from the Federal Trade Commission as part of a review process for its acquisition of Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings Inc.

The defense company said the second request extends the waiting period imposed by the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act until 30 days after both companies have complied with the request or the waiting period is terminated sooner by the FTC. L3Harris said the transaction is expected to close in 2023, pending approval by Aerojet shareholders on Thursday.

L3Harris in December said it agreed to buy Aerojet, a major maker of engines used in missiles, in a $4.7 billion deal. Aerojet was put back up for sale after federal regulators in January 2022 sued to block its planned $4.4 billion purchase by Lockheed Martin Corp. on antitrust grounds.
