LANXESS India donates buses for school children in Nagda as part of its CSR outreach.

Nagda -Specialty chemicals company LANXESS today handed over two buses to the beneficiaries for transportation of government school students and differently-abled children in the town of Nagda. The handover was done in a symbolic manner keeping in mind all social distancing norms.

The donation was part of Corporate Social Responsibility projects committed by the company for the year 2019-2020 under which five projects were implemented with an expenditure of over INR 1.6 crores over the year.

LANXESS had received requests seeking support in providing better transport facility for the differently-abled and municipal school children. These students were finding it difficult to travel to school in the absence of comfortable and affordable transport facilities. The company acknowledged this need and supported it by donating two buses to SNEH Foundation and Shashkiya Kanya Shala.

The other four projects included setting up of a 5 bed state-of-the-art Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) at the Nagda Civil Hospital, installation of solar street lights in Durgapura and Mehatwas, installation of drinking water storages in Takrawda and Bhikampur and greening of the Chambal riverbed, a step towards increasing ground water levels.

LANXESS also took cognizance of the current COVID-19 situation and stepped forward to help the community at the local and national level in fighting the pandemic. It donated reliefmaterial worth INR 10 lakhs to the local authorities in Nagda in the form of face masks, disinfectants, hand sanitizers, liquid soaps, etc. For the current year 2020-2021, the company has already contributed asum of INR 2 crores to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) to help in fight against coronavirus. In addition, LANXESS helped with relief materials in Jhagadia, Gujarat and Thane, Maharashtra as well. It also collaborated with the Akshaya Patra Foundation to provide over 30,000 free meals to the needy.
