TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Laredo Petroleum Inc. (LPI) on Tuesday reported third-quarter net income of $136.8 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company said it had profit of $8.56. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were $1.84 per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.90 per share.

The oil and natural gas company posted revenue of $379.3 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $261.7 million.
