Laureate Education, Inc. announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was USD 327.579 million compared to USD 303.856 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 57.684 million compared to USD 29.143 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 29.000 million compared to USD 307.823 million a year ago. For the half year, sales was USD 522.280 million compared to USD 496.175 million a year ago. Operating loss was USD 28.707 million compared to USD 47.943 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 193.928 million compared to USD 208.208 million a year ago.
Laureate Education, Inc. operates a portfolio of degree-granting higher education institutions (Laureate International Universities network) in Mexico and Peru. Laureate International Universities network offers a range of undergraduate and graduate degrees through campus-based, online and hybrid programs. Its institutions in Mexico and Peru offer traditional higher education students a private education alternative, with multiple brands and price points in each market and program. The Company offers various programs, including medicine and health sciences, engineering and information technology, and business and management.
