For the third year in a row, Leidos tops the Washington Technology Top 100.

Specifics: The list ranks the largest federal contractors by revenue in the high-tech market (work in IT, systems integration, professional services and telecom). Leidos expanded its lead by more than $1.3 billion from the previous year, driven by large contract wins and acquisitions:

  • In May, Leidos completed its acquisition of Gibbs & Cox, expanding its work in naval architecture and marine engineering.
  • In February, the company landed a $2 billion contract to expand the military's nonmedical counseling program.
  • In January, the company completed its acquisition of 1901 Group, advancing the company's digital modernization strategy by two years, according to CFO Jim Reagan.
  • In December, the company won an $8 billion contract to modernize the Navy's enterprise network.
  • Last May, the company completed its acquisition of the L3Harris Technologies airport security business.
  • Last January, the company completed its acquisition of Dynetics, expanding its work in weapons development and space exploration.

From the source: 'Leidos has all the characteristics of a great company,' Reagan said. 'We understand our customers, meet their needs, do right by our employees and embrace change.'

Looking ahead: Reagan said the military's focus on modernization should continue to strengthen the company, as should infrastructure modernization in air travel and energy.
