The $1.5 billion Jacob K. Javits Convention Center expansion adds 1.2 million square feet of event-related space to the facility and now totals 3.3 million square feet. The 54,000 square-foot ballroom is the largest of its kind in the New York region. Additional features of the expansion include a one-acre rooftop farm, greenhouse, and a pavilion accommodating 1,500 people for outdoor events. The facade of the expansion is lined with bird-friendly glass and a truck marshalling facility will greatly reduce traffic in the surrounding neighborhoods.

'It has been an honor to partner with the great State of New York as well as Lendlease, all the design professionals, and trade partners on the expansion of this world-class facility,' said Chris Zegler, Vice President and General Manager, Turner Construction Company. 'It has been an incredibly rewarding experience to help shape the future of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.'
