The potential inclusion of new participants in the international defense initiative GCAP (Global Combat Air Programme)--a collaboration between Italy, the United Kingdom, and Japan to develop a next-generation fighter jet--could offer significant advantages, but the final decision rests with the governments involved.

This was stated by Leonardo CEO Roberto Cingolani during the Paris Air Show.

According to Cingolani, there is room for additional partners in the future, whose involvement could help enhance GCAP's technological capabilities. However, he emphasized that this remains a political decision.

The CEO specifically highlighted that the possible participation of Saudi Arabia in the program would represent a major strategic opportunity, granting access to a large and highly promising market.
