Abierto, a retail-focused technology integration firm, recently conducted a blind study of convenience store shoppers and found that a 14mm Transparent LED Film produced by LG Electronics encouraged spontaneous purchases and improved brand perception, according to a company press release.

The LG technology, which Abierto has rebranded Open.Led as part of its Open platform of digital signage products and services, was tested at a Café Nouria convenience store in Maine and garnered approval from shoppers who weren't told which part of their visit was being studied.

Abierto found that the transparent LED film was beneficial to fueling-station convenience stores because the 73% transparency enables dynamic digital advertising while retaining employees' ability to monitor individual fueling pumps and parking lots. Plus, the display allows owners/operators to build custom-sized digital canvases and a simpler installation process.

LG Electronics was established in 1958.
