Virgin Media O2 has opened applications for 100 full and part-time Customer Service Representative jobs in Wythenshawe, Manchester. Successful applicants will be given on-the-job training and development opportunities, alongside a starting salary of £21,420 for full time workers.

The roles are all offered on a permanent basis, providing new joiners with job certainty and the opportunity to progress in their careers.

Virgin Media 's contact centre teams have been working throughout the pandemic, helping the UK stay connected at a time when broadband, TV and mobile services have never been more important. Virgin Media currently employs over 450 customer service representatives in Manchester and, over the past year, has invested in more than 1,000 UK-based contact centre roles to help support its customers.

Nicola Moore, Director of People Partnering, Talent and Careers at Virgin Media O2, said: 'With 100 customer service roles now available, we're continuing to step up and support our customers, as well as creating exciting job opportunities for people in the North West looking for their next career move.

'We are committed to creating new jobs and investing in our people so they can offer brilliant service to all of our customers as part of our mission to upgrade the UK and supercharge communities.'

Councillor Gavin White, Executive Member for Housing and Employment, Manchester City Council, said: 'The pandemic has had a massive impact on people's jobs and livelihoods and a key priority for us as we emerge from it is helping support our local residents back into work. It's great therefore to see companies like Virgin Media investing in Manchester and providing some brilliant career opportunities that will help change lives.'

Virgin Media O2 launched in June 2021, combining the UK's largest and most reliable mobile network with a broadband network offering the fastest widely-available speeds. The business already employs over 18,000 people across the country, and, by the end of this year, the new joint business will have created almost 2,000 new UK roles. The company is also committed to creating 1,000 apprenticeship roles.

This investment in jobs will help the telecommunications firm deliver next-generation gigabit speeds across its entire network by the end of the year and continue to expand its ultrafast network to hundreds of thousands more premises as part of its 'Project Lightning' programme. As an example on July 16th, Virgin Media O2 announced it has connected around 4,200 homes in the Woodburn area of Dalkeith, Scotland.
