GUILDFORD, Britain (AP) _ Linde plc (LIN) on Friday reported second-quarter earnings of $841 million.

The Guildford, Britain-based company said it had net income of $1.60 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $2.70 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.56 per share.

The gas supplier posted revenue of $7.58 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $7.39 billion.

For the current quarter ending in October, Linde expects its per-share earnings to range from $2.60 to $2.70.

The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $10.10 to $10.30 per share.

Linde shares have increased 14% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 22% in the last 12 months.
