Ben Rattigan, Information Security Manager at United Living Group, has been presented with an award from CSO Online, providing recognition of the work he has put into developing a cyber-security framework and a drive for security innovation and business value.

Cyber security initiatives that Ben has been involved with include:

Understanding the need for building each group business up to ISO27001 best practice and developing a roadmap towards ISO27001 accreditation

Working with executive sponsors at board level to ensure leadership and executive alignment

Design and development of training and workshop materials

Working with Waterstons IT Consultancy to ensure the programme is aligned to ISO27001 best practice.

These efforts have resulted in a marked increase in staff awareness of cyber security, a significant decrease in phishing incidents and improved self-reliance by staff when addressing principles of cyber security internally and externally.

Greg Morley, Group Chief Information Officer at United Living Group, said: 'Ben has worked selflessly and tirelessly toward implementing ISO27001 best practice with a view to seeking accreditation in FY22. This has included personally developing and delivering multiple cyber security, information security and awareness training workshops to each of the businesses. Ben has been personally invested in ensuring cyber security best practice in our organisation, including travel around the UK to each of the business areas and also developing training and awareness material after hours.'

'I am very happy and proud that Ben has been recognised by CSO Online, an award that is thoroughly deserved.'
