In support of its long-standing commitment to equal opportunity, United Living Group is proud to announce that it has become a member of the UK government's Disability Confident Scheme.

The Disability Confident scheme encourages organisations to think differently about disability, promoting a positive approach to enabling disabled people and those with other health conditions within the workplace.

United Living Group has been accredited Level 1 status of the Disability Confident Scheme, recognising a sustained commitment to creating environments for disabled people and people with health conditions to fulfil their potential and achieve their aspirations.

Through its membership, United Living Group is taking action to improve how it recruits, retains and develops those with disabilities, aiming to achieve Level 3 status as a 'Disability Confident leader' over the coming months.

Kamal Shergill, Group HR Director, United Living Group, said: 'We are proud to be recognised as a Disability Confident employer. At United Living Group, we strive to be a diverse and inclusive business, reflecting the society we work within.

'We do this by creating an environment in which our people feel welcomed, valued and motivated, supporting them at every level to reach their potential and achieve their goals'.

United Living Group recently launched it's United & Inclusive Action Plan. The plan provides a platform for all employees to bring their own unique perspective to the development of United Living Group's working culture and create a fair and inclusive workplace.

United Living is also a Women into Construction (WIC) organisation member. A vital element of the company's ongoing work is to increase female representation in its staff and the industry.
