London Stock Exchange Group PLC said Friday that Borsa Italiana Group Chief Executive and Executive Director Raffaele Jerusalmi along with LSEG's independent non-executive director Andrea Sironi have agreed to step down from the LSEG plc board with immediate effect.

The FTSE 100 U.K. exchange operator said they are stepping down following Euronext NV's shareholders approval for the proposed acquisition of London Stock Exchange Group Holdings Italia SpA. together with its subsidiaries.

On Nov. 3, the operator said that its shareholders had voted in favor of the sale of London Stock Exchange Group Holdings Italia SpA and its business to Euronext NV at the group's general meeting.

"Raffaele, in the last 10 years in his role as an executive director, has played a key role in the growth of the group's capital markets business since the merger between Borsa Italiana and London Stock Exchange in 2007," Chair Don Robert said, noting that Andrea Sironi "provided valuable financial risk management and regulatory experience" since 2016.

Shares at 1055 GMT were up 32.00 pence, or 0.4%, at 8124.00 pence.
