Matthieu Boone will retire from his position as director and chairman of the Board of Directors of Lotus Bakeries. Proposal to appoint Sofie Boone as a new non-executive director. Jan Vander Stichele becomes non-executive chairman of the Board of Directors.


In May 2016, Matthieu Boone turns 70 and will retire from his position as director, as this is within the tradition of Lotus Bakeries. At the General Meeting of 13 May 2016, his daughter Sofie Boone will be nominated as director. Sofie Boone (42) graduated from KU Leuven as a pharmacist and runs her own pharmacy.


Matthieu Boone has also been chairman of the Board of Directors since 2012. Jan Vander Stichele will succeed him in this position. Jan Vander Stichele (52) is currently Executive Director and responsible for a number of major corporate departments. As of May 2016, he will give up his current responsibilities as Executive Director and will no longer perform executive tasks. Jan has been active within Lotus Bakeries since 1996 and can use his knowledge and experience of the organisation to help the management and the other board members. In addition to his role as chairman of the Board of Directors, he will continue to represent Lotus Bakeries in various professional associations. Jan Vander Stichele graduated from KU Leuven as a civil engineer and has a bachelor's degree in applied economics. The Board of Directors will appoint Jan Vander Stichele as chairman at the next meeting of the Board of Directors after the General Meeting of May 2016.


A family approach, professional people and continuity are crucial to Lotus Bakeries. We are therefore convinced that due to this change, the current dynamic and consistent focus on the strategy will be continued in the future.


We wish Jan Vander Stichele as future chairman and Sofie Boone as future director every success in their new responsibilities.
