Lowe's isn't just selling home improvement products this holiday season. Consumers will find lots of merchandise well beyond hammers, hoses and repair tools.

The retailers will be selling bedding, scooters and even air fryers, according to a CNBC report.

The strategy was initiated early this year, before COVID-19 shutdowns, according to the report, and the retailer, just like competitor Home Depot, is starting holiday sales well before the traditional sales kickoff on Black Friday.

The goal is to become a "gift-giving destination," Lowe's Chief Brand and Marketing Officer Marisa Thalberg said in a recent virtual news conference.
