After a roughly two-month suspension, Lufthansa is set to resume flights to Tel Aviv in the near future.
The airline announced on Friday that connections would restart from June 23. This decision, Lufthansa stated, is based on a comprehensive analysis of the current security situation and has been made in coordination with the relevant authorities. Subsidiaries including Austrian, Swiss, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, ITA, and Lufthansa Cargo will also resume operations.
In May, following the impact of a rocket near Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport, numerous airlines had temporarily halted their flights. The attack was carried out by the Houthi militia from Yemen, which is allied with the Palestinian Hamas. Due to ongoing fighting in the Gaza Strip, Lufthansa had repeatedly extended its suspension of flights.
