(Alliance News) - Maire Tecnimont Spa announced Monday that NextChem, through its subsidiary Stamicarbon, licensor for nitrogen technologies, has been selected by Linggu Chemical Co. Ltd to provide licensing and process design package to improve the energy efficiency of an existing urea plant in China with a total capacity of 3,100 tons/day.

Linggu Chemical is a leading Chinese manufacturer of agricultural chemicals.

The company's proprietary Advanced MP Flash Design solution, part of the EVOLVE EnergyTM technology portfolio, allows it to significantly limit steam use and optimize raw material use, reducing overall plant energy consumption by up to 20 percent and maximizing energy savings without the need for additional high-pressure equipment, the company explained in a note.

Alessandro Bernini, CEO of MAIRE, commented, "This project consolidates our strong position in technology supply in China and reaffirms our role as a global technology leader in advanced solutions that help reduce emissions from the fertilizer industry."
