Manchester United announced Richard Arnold as their new chief executive to replace Ed Woodward. The change in the Red Devils hierarchy has been coming since Woodward announced he would step down following the collapse of the European Super League in April. Instead of looking to recruit a new man, the club are promoting Arnold, who has been a part of their backroom staff since 2007. The accountant joined as group commercial director before becoming group managing director in 2013. It will take effect in the New Year, with Woodward expected to remain with the club in a consultancy role.
