IRVINE, Calif. (AP) _ Masimo Corp. (MASI) on Tuesday reported second-quarter profit of $18.1 million.

On a per-share basis, the Irvine, California-based company said it had net income of 33 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $1.35 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.19 per share.

The medical technology company posted revenue of $565.3 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $541.9 million.

For the current quarter ending in October, Masimo expects its per-share earnings to range from 85 cents to 97 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $515 million to $545 million for the fiscal third quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $186.1 million.

Masimo expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.34 to $4.57 per share, with revenue ranging from $1.99 billion to $2.05 billion.
