Kevin Kettler, Chairman of the Management Board and President McKesson International, said: 'Throughout the pandemic, McKesson teams across Europe have continued to ensure the safe supply of medicines. I want to pay tribute to the way they have served their local communities from Porto to Paris, Milan to Manchester. For us, logistics isn't all about delivering boxes. It's delivering life-saving medicines, medical products and healthcare services to patients wherever, and whenever they need them.

'We're proud that we are to play a role in the next phase of managing this healthcare crisis. With more than 100 distribution centers across Europe, we have the infrastructure, capability and experience to manage the challenges presented by storing and distributing the various vaccines. We already deliver to over 50,000 hospitals and pharmacies every single day, whether it's insulin, chemotherapy medicines or paracetamol.'

McKesson Europe's parent company, McKesson Corporation, announced in August that its existing partnership with the Centers for Disease Control would be expanded to support the US government's Operation Warp Speed team as a centralized distributor of COVID-19 vaccines and ancillary supplies needed to administer vaccinations.
