Southern Urals' best bloggers and reporters will vie for the top place in covering positive changes in Chelyabinsk's ecological situation. The contest will be held from 25 August to 15 November, with the results to be made public on 10 December. The contest includes seven nominations and 21 prizes. Top prizes of 35,000 rubles each will be awarded in two key nominations, for Best Eco-Blogger and Best Journalist.
The contest allows participation by individual bloggers and reporters as well as teams and media.
Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant became one of the contest's sponsors.
'We are always open for cooperation, especially where our region's ecology is concerned, so we are grateful to the contest's organizers for their invitation to become a partner. We think it is important to support talented bloggers and reporters that use their creative skills to cover environmental issues. The plant considers it necessary not only to make consistent effort to reduce our impact on the environment, but also to support social projects,' the chief of Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant's ecological security department Alexander Sosunov noted during the ecology ministry's news conference.
