Meggitt PLC, a leading international company specialising in high performance components and subsystems for the aerospace, defence and selected energy markets, has secured a contract with MAN Energy Solutions for the supply of Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers (PCHE) for the first ever commercial application of a MAN ETES heat pump system in the Danish port of Esbjerg.

MAN Energy Solutions will supply the ETES heat pump technology to Danish multi-utility company DIN Forsyning. This groundbreaking solution offers a carbon-neutral alternative to traditional fossil fuel power plants, harnessing wind and seawater hydro power to supply energy to approximately 100,000 local inhabitants. The MAN ETES heat pump installation is both the largest sea water heat pump in Denmark and the largest heat pump in the world to use CO2 as a refrigerant.

Adrian Tattersall, General Manager of Meggitt's Heatric organisation said 'We are delighted to be supporting MAN Energy Solutions on such a pioneering and environmentally beneficial project. The contract award demonstrates Heatric's ability to work closely with our customers to provide innovative technical solutions to support clean energy. Our PCHEs are central to the system and provide the thermal transfer between the innovative CO2 refrigerant loop and the district heating network. This award further supports our ambition to provide optimised heat transfer solutions to the growing Green technology market'.
