Through a new automated and high-tech central warehouse, Mekonomen Group invests in further efficiency and further improved competitiveness with increased availability for customers. The new warehouse is planned to be built in the Mjøs region in Norway and completed during 2025.

The planned central warehouse will supply spare parts and the need for accessories for the Norwegian leading concepts MECA and Mekonomen in Norway. The current two smaller regional warehouses in Norway for MECA and Mekonomen, respectively, are each undersized due to the recent year's growth. A joint warehouse with broader assortment and streamlining through automation would contribute to increased availability for customers. The planned warehouse will have the capacity to stock 100,000 items compared to today's around 25-50,000 items in each regional warehouse.

"With the planning of the new joint warehouse, we are building for the future and enabling benefits from economies of scale. We see great potential in continuing to streamline our warehousing and distribution processes while increasing customer availability", says Geir Hoff, Managing Director at Mekonomen Company Norway, a part of Mekonomen Group.

The new facility is planned to be built in the Mjøs region in Norway and is expected to be completed in 2025. The construction of the facility would not have a significant impact on the Group's cash flow or earnings. The construction is in the procurement phase where Mekonomen Group intends to return with more information about the project's scope at a later stage.

"We are among the leaders within efficient logistics solutions and are now taking additional position for the future. The investment in Norway is in line with our strategy of ensuring a sustainable business and meeting customers' demands for mobility - today, tomorrow and in the future. Through the experience of our successful central warehouse project in Sweden and ongoing project in Denmark, we have built a solid competence within the area that will contribute to the efficiency of the project", says Pehr Oscarson, President and CEO at Mekonomen Group.
