On Wednesday evening Mekonomen Group won Retail Awards in the category logistics initiative of the year for its powerful logistics investment where the company merged two central warehouses in Sweden.
- This has been a long transformation that has been going on since 2016 and I am very glad that the work is noticed. Not least, it has been a fantastic team effort where we have managed to change both business and warehouse systems. Today, 70 percent of our items and 75 percent of our orders are handled by an automated warehouse solution", says Christofer Kohn, Managing Director of Bileko Car Parts, which is the wholesale company in Mekonomen Group's business area MECA/Mekonomen.
Mekonomen Group won the prize for logistics initiative of the year with the following motivation from the jury:
"Thanks to long-term logistics investments, the company has created the conditions for really fast deliveries, increased availability, reduced risk of interruptions and better working conditions. The new warehouse also provides opportunities to further improve the logistics system, for example in order to better meet environmental requirements and continue the digitalization of the supply chain."
