Meliá Hotels International, the leading Spanish hotel group, continues to maintain its strategic growth in China and on April.9th announced further growth with the new INNSiDE by Meliá Qujiang Xian, which is expected to open by 2025, expanding the group's footprint in the country to 12 properties (6 operating hotels and 6 in the pipeline in Shanghai, Xi'an, Chengdu, Jinan, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, Inner Mongolia, and Guangxi).


Xi'an has a history of more than 3,000 years. It is also the political, economic, and cultural center of Northwest China. INNSiDE by Meliá Qujiang Xian is located in Qujiang New District, the cultural center of the city, boasting popular tourist attractions such as Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, Tang Dynasty Furong Garden, Great Tang Dynasty Ever-Bright City, Tang Dynasty Fortification Wall Relics Park, and Duling Relics Park, and cultural and art venues such as Shaanxi Grand Theater, Xi'an Art Museum, and Xi'an Concert Hall. The district is also one of the most liveable areas for residential properties in the city. The signing of INNSiDE by Meliá Qujiang Xian, creates synergy with the group's operating property, Gran Meliá Xi'an, flagship luxury hotel next to Tang Paradise, and the pipeline hotel Meliá Qinhan New Town, an urban resort located in Xixian New Area in the city.

Mr. Bernardo Cabot, Area Managing Director China, Meliá Hotels International, and Mr. Miguel Wang, Head of Development North Asia, Meliá Hotels International, attended the signing ceremony and signed the management agreement with the owning company Xi'an International Exhibition Investment Holdings Co., Ltd., subsidiary of Xi'an Qujiang Cultural Industry Investment(Group)Co., Ltd., at Gran Meliá Xian hotel.

As of the signing of INNSiDE by Meliá Qujiang Xian, Meliá Hotels International currently has a total of 54 properties in the Asia Pacific region, which are expected to open in the next few years.


In 2021, INNSiDE by Meliá plans to expand, prioritizing sustainability and respect for the environment, and to open new hotels in Amsterdam, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Luxembourg. These openings will join the brand's portfolio, currently made up of 33 hotels in countries such as Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, China, Vietnam, Peru, and the United States.​
