Double podium in France:The second of two Formula One double-headers in the month of July opened with the French Grand Prix at the Circuit Paul Ricard. In a thrilling sprint to the finish, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell secured second and third places to register the first double podium of the season for the team. It was also Lewis's 187th Top Three finish in his 300th Grand Prix, all of which were achieved in a Mercedes-power car. Lewis has now appeared on the podium in each of the last four races, starting with the Canadian GP. For George, it was his fourth podium of the campaign.

Hungary, here we come:From France, the F1 teams proceed directly to Hungary, where the last race weekend (29 - 31 July) before the short F1 summer break is to be contested. The Hungarian Grand Prix has been an annual fixture on the Formula One calendar since 1986, and this year's running will be the 37th. Lewis Hamilton's tally of eight wins, eight pole positions and ten podiums makes him the most successful contestant in all three categories at the Hungaroring. Team honours go to McLaren for their eleven victories, followed by Williams and Ferrari on seven wins each. The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team has won five times in Hungary since 2013, on each occasion with Lewis at the wheel of a Silver Arrow. Mercedes is the most successful engine manufacturer in Hungary, with 13 victories. In terms of pole positions, McLaren and Ferrari lead the way with eight each, closely followed by Mercedes-AMG on seven. The fastest race lap (1:16.627) and the absolute lap record (1:13.447) were set in the 2020 season by Lewis Hamilton.

London, here we come:The penultimate race weekend in Season 8 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship takes the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team to London next weekend (30/31 July), where the ExCeL Circuit will host the all-electric racing series for the second time. The 2.141 km track runs alongside the Thames river and partly through the exhibition halls of the Exhibition Centre London (ExCeL for short). Before the new circuit made its debut last year, Formula E had already staged two double-headers at Battersea Park in London. The Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team will be competing in the British capital for the second time. Last year, Stoffel Vandoorne booked pole position for Race 2, while Nyck de Vries took the runner-up spot in both races. This year, Stoffel arrives in London topping the Drivers' Standings. He has an eleven-point lead over Edoardo Mortara, with Nyck some way back in eighth place. The Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team leads the Team Championship by ten points ahead of Venturi Racing.

Triple Eight JMR claim yet another overall victory, this time at Fuji Speedway:One week after their two podium finishes at the Suzuka International Racing Course, championship leaders Nick Foster (AUS) and Prince Jefri Ibrahim (MAS) once again showed themselves in fine form. On the third race weekend of the GT World Challenge Asia at Fuji Speedway, the Triple Eight JMR duo in the number 99 Mercedes-AMG GT3 first secured a fourth-place finish on Saturday before celebrating their second win of the season in Sunday's one-hour race. With six of twelve rounds now complete, Foster and Ibrahim have opened up a 30-point lead over their closest challengers in the overall standings.

Team Scala also defended their lead in the Silver AM category as Tatsuya Tanigawa and Jun Tashiro (both JPN) in the #55 Mercedes-AMG GT4 followed up a P2 on Saturday with a class win on Sunday.

George Kurtz triumphant in two separate race series at Watkins Glen International:George Kurtz (USA) enjoyed a near-perfect motorsport weekend at Watkins Glen International with a haul of three wins and a P2 from four races. The American shared a cockpit with Colin Braun (USA) in the two rounds of the 2022 GT World Challenge America. In the two 90-minute races at 'The Glen', they finished second and first, which was more than enough to defend their lead in the overall standings. With their victory on Sunday, the Pro-Am pairing also contributed to a double success for Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing, as Philip Ellis (SUI) and Russell Ward (USA) in the #33 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of WINWARD Racing secured second place and thus victory in the Pro category.

Kurtz also competed in the GT America support series, producing two impressive solo drives in the #04 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of CrowdStrike Racing by Riley Motorsport, each of which earned overall victory for the GT veteran.

Podium successes for Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing at Spa-Francorchamps:2 Seas Motorsport and RAM Racing made it onto the podium on the fifth race weekend of the British GT Championship. James Cottingham and Lewis Williamson (both GBR) in the number 4 GT3 of 2 Seas finished the two-hour race at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps second overall, followed across the line by third-placed Jules Gounon (FRA) and Ian Loggie (GBR) in the #6 RAM Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3. This latest solid result for RAM Racing and for Loggie means that they hold on to their lead in the British GT team and driver standings.

The GT4 France teams and drivers descended on the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps this weekend for the seventh and eighth rounds of the season. After starting Saturday's 60-minute race from 14th position, Hugo Chevalier and Enzo Joulié (both FRA) in the #87 AKKODIS ASP Mercedes-AMG GT4 steadily worked their way through the field to finish just inside the Top Three. Meanwhile, in the AM category, NM Racing narrowly missed out on class victory twice: Stanislav Safronov and Aleksander Vaintrub in the #188 Mercedes-AMG GT4 finished second on both Saturday and Sunday.

Spa-Francorchamps, here we come:The practice and qualifying sessions for the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa are already taking place during the working week at the high-speed circuit in the Belgian Ardennes. No fewer than 14 Mercedes-AMG GT3s fielded by nine ambitious Customer Racing teams will compete in the world's biggest GT3 race next Saturday (start time 16:45 CEST).
