ANDOVER, Mass. (AP) _ Mercury Systems Inc. (MRCY) on Tuesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $17.9 million.

The Andover, Massachusetts-based company said it had net income of 32 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 73 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 67 cents per share.

The maker of processing systems and software posted revenue of $250.8 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $242.7 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $62 million, or $1.12 per share. Revenue was reported as $924 million.

For the current quarter ending in October, Mercury Systems expects its per-share earnings to range from 38 cents to 41 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $210 million to $220 million for the fiscal first quarter.

Mercury Systems expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.45 to $2.55 per share, with revenue ranging from $1 billion to $1.03 billion.

Mercury Systems shares have dropped 28% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $63.57, a decrease of 19% in the last 12 months.
