Kenya: Reviewing Misinformation and Reporting Hate Speech

In our new series, Preparing for the 2022 Kenya Elections, we take a look at campaign best practices leading up to election day on 9th August 2022. In thefirst post, we discussed ads transparency and ID processing. In this edition, we review misinformation and how to report hate speech.

Identify and report hate speech

We definehate speechas a direct attack against people on the basis of what we call protected characteristics: race, ethnicity, national origin, disability, religious affiliation, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity and serious disease. Hate speech is againstMeta's Community Standardsand will be removed if violating these policies.
