Shares of companies with nuclear power in their portfolios are riding higher on a wave of positive sentiment from Meta Platforms' 20-year deal with Constellation Energy.
Vistra's stock was up 4% at $174.11 in early trading. Shares of Talen Energy were up 2.5% at $254.84. Cameco's stock was up 3.3% at $60.14.
Meta said Tuesday that it is buying the power generation of a Constellation nuclear plant in Illinois for two decades. Constellation's stock was up 3.6% at $32.63 in the morning session, a smaller gain than it had ahead of the opening bell.
The tech industry is turning to nuclear power for the huge amounts of electricity needed to support its artificial-intelligence ambitions.
Shares of NRG Energy, which doesn't own any nuclear capacity, were up just half a percentage point at $159.33 in early trading.
