The Board of Directors of Avista Inc. (KOSE:A090370) authorized a share repurchase program on February 11, 2010. Under the program, the company will repurchase up to KRW 1 billion worth own shares pursuant to a trust agreement with Daewoo Securities Co., Ltd. The purpose behind the program is to stabilize the stock price and to enhance shareholder value. The plan will commence on February 11, 2010 and will continue until August 11, 2010.
On August 10, 2010, the company extended the share repurchase program to expire on February 11, 2011.
