　　When the first ray of sunshine in the new year illuminates the sky, the pointer of time points to a new historical scale. At the historical convergence of the Two Centenary Goals, we review our past and look into the future.

　　2021 marked the centennial of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan period. It was also the year in which China embarks on the great journey toward all-around modernization. In history, it is bound to bear the special and important stamp of revolutionary legacy. We studied the Party's history, understood its theories, did practical work, and made new advances. We wrote a new chapter for MCC's contributions to building a modern socialist country in all respects and celebrated the centennial of the founding of the Party with outstanding achievements.

　　We draw nutrition and motivation from the glorious journey the Party has traveled over 100 years of struggle, unswervingly building a world-class national team of metallurgical construction. From the involvement in the construction of Ansteel, Baogang Group, WISCO, Pangang Group, Magang (Group), Baosteel and Zhanjiang Iron and Steel, we can perceive MCC staff's political beliefs of being loyal to the Party and serving the country. The deeds of "model worker" Ma Wanshui and "good secretary" Qi Ruixin reflect the MCC staff's inheritance of the spirit of reinforcing the country's strength in metallurgy. The Flaming Years, which is the first TV play recording the revolutionary legacy of the national team of metallurgical construction, reproduces the "burning years" of MCC people. From these, we gain forces driving us to move ahead. As a company representing the top international level and the level of the metallurgical industry, we own world-class core technologies, independent and controllable capabilities of innovation and development, and irreplaceable integration advantages across the whole metallurgical industry chain, assuming the responsibility of leading China's metallurgy industry toward a more intelligent, green, low-carbon and efficient level. Over the last year, the national team of metallurgical construction cemented its absolute advantages, the capital construction business developed steadily and healthily, emerging industries grew rapidly, and overseas businesses made progress against difficulties. We also achieved rapid year-on-year growth in newly signed contracts, operating income, and total profits, continued to improve financial indicators, significantly expanded our influence in the capital market, and achieved fruitful results in major scientific and technological innovation and major projects. These achievements have consolidated our development foundation, providing us with a good start for the 14th Five-year Plan. They also demonstrated the new responsibilities and actions of central enterprises in the centenary of the Party.

　　We are more aware of the strength of truth and practice from Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era (Xi Jinping Thought), making solid and orderly progress in advancing reform and innovation tasks. Keeping in mind Xi Jinping Thought, we have an in-depth study on the spirit of the July 1 Speech by General Secretary of the CPC Xi Jinping, especially his speech in his visit to the National Bobsleigh and Tobogganing Center. In addition, we have conscientiously implemented the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, the second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth Plenary sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee, and the Central Economic Work Conference. We have fully, accurately, and comprehensively implemented the new concept of development, serving the establishment of a new development pattern, and promoting high-quality development. Last year, we took active steps to improve management toward world-class standards, sorted out 37 sub-areas in eight management areas for benchmarking, and simultaneously took multiple measures to accelerate the process of becoming a world-class enterprise. We also made extensive efforts to implement the three-year action plan for state-owned enterprise (SOE) reform, promote the "double-hundred action", "demonstration action on scientific and technological reform", make us a leaner, better performer, and improve quality and efficiency. In addition, we accelerated the pace of our pioneering role in original technology, launched the "181 Plan" and major R&D projects in the non-steel field, playing an important role in strengthening the country's strategic scientific and technological forces. Furthermore, we made solid efforts to implement the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and rapidly established four low-carbon technology research institutes, vigorously promoting the development of green and low-carbon technologies in metallurgy. Meanwhile, we fully implemented our main responsibilities in preventing risks, resolutely and effectively preventing and resolving all kinds of risks, and firmly holding on to the bottom line for the occurrence of major risks. The awards or honors we won in the last year include: four State Science and Technology Awards, six China Construction Engineering Luban Awards, 26 National Quality Engineering Awards, more than 10,000 valid invention patents, the award of "Listed Company with the Most Investment Value in the 14th Five-Year Plan Period" of the China Securities Golden Bauhinia Awards, the state broadcaster Xinwen Lianbo's six reports on our good corporate image that comprehensively demonstrates the great achievements in SOE reform and the solid pace of the development of SOEs.

　　Guided by the fundamental purpose of wholeheartedly serving the people, we have made unremitting efforts to ensure that the fruits of enterprise development benefit more people. We have resolutely practiced the development concept that puts people first, and solidly promoted the practical activity of "I do practical things for the masses". By carrying forward the revolutionary tradition of places where more than 4,000 engineering projects are located, we have served local economic and social development, strove to build high-quality projects that satisfy the people, constantly pushing forward the cause of bringing benefits to the people. Last year, we took winning the battle against pollution as our responsibility, made efforts to promote the construction of ecological and environmental protection projects, and did our best to protect the environment. We focused on making breakthroughs in priorities, increasing capacity, optimizing the workflow, and improving efficiency, so as to boost the construction of projects for the supply of heat and power and facilitate the safe and stable supply. We raced against time and fight against coronavirus by promoting the construction of pandemic prevention and isolation projects to provide a strong guarantee for local pandemic containment. Focusing on solving the concerns of the people, we did a lot of work in projects of "vegetable basket" and "grain bag", making contributions to the national vegetable and grain reserve in the new period. We firmly implemented the strategy of reinvigorating the country through science and education, helping promote the construction of educational infrastructure so that children have the chance to live a wonderful life. We continued to consolidate the achievements in poverty alleviation and vigorously promoted the construction of rural revitalization projects, creating a better life for numerous rural people.

　　We have refined the magic weapon that helps us win victory from our development experience, acting as a pioneer while the world is undergoing profound changes of a scale unseen in a century. We have accurately grasped the basic connotation of exploring new opportunities and breaking new ground in response to major risks, changes. We have seized the strategic opportunities of "dual circulation" and got a grip on the key to marketing. With the enterprise spirit of "no delaying and slacking", we have overcome difficulties to identify changes and adapt to them scientifically and actively. We have created all favorable conditions where we have discovered, seized opportunities, acting as a responsible pioneer to break a new ground unseen in a century. In the past year, we got many influential benchmarking projects for metallurgical construction, such as the withdrawal for integration in Hangang old town and China's first self-developed universal mill heavy rail production line by Hebei Yong Yang Special Steel Group. We also signed major projects beneficial to the people's livelihood with an investment of reaching 10 billion yuan, such as Zhanjiang Donghai Island Industrial Park and Liuzhou Expressway Transit Line Road. These achievements have contributed to the initial formation of a province with a scale of one hundred billion yuan and of the market development fundamental with a scale of one trillion yuan, also allowed us to ascend to a leading position as an enterprise with a market value of one hundred billion yuan. We delivered China's first and Asia's third bobsleigh and tobogganing track, ensured the operation and maintenance services for a series of international events before the opening of the Winter Olympic Games, and completed the project of Xiamen Tianma Electronic Factory Building, the domestic largest and state-of-the-art flexible AMOLED single panel factory-Tianma e-factory 30 days ahead of schedule. Besides, we were involved in many classic construction projects, such as the Dongan Lake Sports Park (the main venue of the 31st Summer Universiade), Universal Beijing Resort, Tianjin Juilliard School, Lanzhou Olympic Sports Center, Shenzhen Metro, and the joint construction of the pipe gallery. These highlighted the strength of the national team of metallurgical construction, the major force in capital construction, the frontrunner of the emerging industry, providing solid support for serving the country's major development strategies.

　　We have undergone the trials of brambles and thorns, and overcome them with hard work. Our striving stamp will be enshrined in history permanently. We will bring together the forces of the times to promote the high-tech and high-quality development of enterprises, growing into a strong company that focuses on professional development and warm care.

　　We will continue to march ahead courageously, and create brighter glory. The Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 will be held soon, which will present a stronger China to the world. As a responsible central enterprise, we will uphold the spirit of "no delaying and slacking" to strive ahead, making a greater contribution to make China Minmetals more innovative, efficient, digital, branded, and safer. We endeavor to celebrate the opening of the 20th CPC National Congress with outstanding achievements.
