The two sides made exchanges and discussions on further deepening the cooperation between enterprises and local governments, promoting the high-quality development of enterprises and other topics.

Guo Wenqing expressed his gratitude for the warm reception given by Du Jiahao and the support for China Minmetals' development in Hunan offered by the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province. He also briefed on the current basic situation of China Minmetals and the development of its subsidiaries located there. Guo Wenqing stressed that China Minmetals is committed to building itself into a world-class metal mining enterprise group, with assets under its management amounting to 2.16 trillion yuan. In 2019, its business income exceeded 600 billion yuan, ranking 92nd among companies in Fortune Global 500 list, with its competitiveness constantly enhanced. China Minmetals attaches great importance to the strategic cooperation with Hunan Province, which boasts the largest strategic layout, the largest total assets, the largest number of industrial sectors and the most complete industrial chain of China Minmetals. The total assets of its subsidiaries in Hunan currently top 204.5 billion yuan. With the full support of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province, Zhuzhou Smelter Group has completed the relocation and transformation, and the Copper, Lead and Zinc Industry Demonstration Base has begun to take shape, bringing in great economic and social benefits. Hunan Changyuan Lico Co., Ltd. leads the pack in the anode materials in the country, and the National New Energy Materials Industry Base is running at full capacity, with the 40,000-ton anode material project expected to start in the near future. In addition, China Minmetals Tower, the industry headquarters, has started construction in Changsha. The smooth progress of these major projects embodies the in-depth and wide-ranging cooperation between China Minmetals and Hunan Province.

Guo Wenqing emphasized that China Minmetals always bears in mind the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions on the reform and development of state-owned enterprises. Under the new development pattern with the domestic market as the focus and domestic and international markets promoting each other, it will shoulder the main responsibility of building 'four beams and eight columns' for reform, and constantly consolidate the foundation for development. With its own advantages, China Minmetals is wedded to strengthening the mineral exploration in the depth, edge and periphery of old mining areas, actively partaking in the reshaping of domestic resource patterns, and continuously improving its ability to obtain resources in the country. It will fully tap the potential of existing resources, and extend the industrial chains of rare earth, antimony, cemented carbide and others, thus fostering competitive advantages across the entire industrial chain. Through learning from top-notch mining groups, it will enhance its professional competence of metal mining. To accelerate the integration of resources, it will increase its investment in transportation and municipal infrastructure construction in Hunan. Apart from that, a large amount of assistance resources will be allocated to Hunan to build several demonstration bases for poverty alleviation by developing industries, thus further playing the company's demonstration and leading role in poverty alleviation. Guo Wenqing said that China Minmetals will further deepen its cooperation with Hunan Province, accelerate the implementation of existing projects, step up efforts in developing business, and bolster the high-quality economic and social development of Hunan. On the other hand, the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and People's Government of Hunan Province are expected to continue to offer China Minmetals support and assistance to achieve mutual benefits and common development.

Du Jiahao extended a warm welcome to Guo Wenqing and his delegation, expressed his sincere gratitude to China Minmetals for helping Hunan in overcoming poverty, and reviewed the history of cooperation between Hunan Province and China Minmetals. He expressed his sincere congratulations on this. The long-standing cooperation between Hunan and China Minmetals has yielded a number of gratifying results. In the reform and restructuring, transformation and relocation, environmental governance, and R&D of new materials of China Minmetals' subsidiaries in Hunan, both sides have maintained a good momentum of cooperation. Currently, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping as the core, Hunan Province has scored initial victories in coping with COVID-19, resuming work and production, and conducting flood prevention and drought relief, which will further render better government services and a better business environment available to China Minmetals' subsidiaries in Hunan. In the future, the People's Government of Hunan Province will continuously deepen its cooperation with China Minmetals in the development of mineral resources, the research, design, and construction of major engineering projects such as expressways, airports and subways, so as to concertedly address the difficulties faced by the company in the reform and development, and fully catalyze the development of China Minmetals' subsidiaries in Hunan.
