The Renovation Project of Chongqing Iron & Steel No. 7 Converter Contracted by MCC CISDI Is Concluded

  On November 20, Chongqing Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. held the Conclusion Ceremony of the No. 7 Converter High-efficiency Renovation Project and the Commencement Ceremony of the No. 4 Continuous Casting Machine Renovation Project. The two projects are heavyweight in Chongqing Iron & Steel's technical reform for improving quality and efficiency this year, which boost the implementation of a new round of development plans and the 'three-step' development strategy, and support Chongqing Iron & Steel to be a pioneer in the iron and steel industry in the southwest China. They also help China Baowu Steel Group achieve the goal of 'forming a number of pillar industries with an annual income of over 100 billion yuan and an annual profit of over 10 billion yuan, a number of excellent enterprises with an annual income of over 10 billion yuan and an annual profit of over 1 billion yuan in the iron and steel manufacturing, new materials, smart service, resources and environment, industrial park, and industrial finance, as well as achieving an annual steel output of over 100 million tons by 2025 and an annual income of 1 trillion yuan by 2035'.

  Chen Derong, Chairman and Secretary of the CPC Committee of Baowu, Zhang Jingang, Deputy General Manager and Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of Baowu, and Chairman of Chongqing Iron & Steel, and Zhao Shiqing, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Changshou District, Chongqing, attended the ceremony. Xiao Peng, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of CISDI, was invited to attend the ceremony and speak on behalf of the general contractor.

  The Chongqing Iron & Steel plant's high-efficiency renovation project of converters, which was contracted by CISDI, is of significance for implementing the production and operation strategy of 'expanding scale, adjusting structure, and reducing costs'. It contributes to increasing the annual steel output of the No. 2 Steel Plant to over 4 million tons, and greatly improves the smelting efficiency of and reduces the manufacturing costs of converters, which is of great value for increasing the company's annual steel output to 10 million tons. After the No. 7 converter was put into operation, the high-efficiency renovation project of No. 5 and No. 6 converters also started intensive construction.
