METRO donates $447,020 to the Canadian Red Cross in support of its earthquake in Türkiye & Syria appeal
MONTREAL, March 15, 2023Thanks to the fundraising campaign held in February in its food banners in Quebec and its pharmacy networks, METRO is proud to donate $397,020 to the Canadian Red Cross to support its humanitarian aid efforts in Turkey and Syria for the affected populations. At the launch of the campaign, METRO announced a donation of $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross, bringing the total donation to $447,020. The entire donation will be directed to the Earthquake in Türkiye & Syria Appeal to support emergency relief, recovery and resiliency building activities in the affected areas.
METRO would like to acknowledge the generosity of Metro, Super C, Adonis, Jean Coutu and Brunet customers who once again responded and helped raise this amount.
It is still possible to contribute to the relief fund by visiting the Canadian Red Cross website.
