COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ Mettler-Toledo International Inc. (MTD) on Thursday reported third-quarter profit of $203.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Columbus, Ohio-based company said it had net income of $8.71. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $8.72 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $8.25 per share.

The maker of precision instruments posted revenue of $952 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $925 million.

Mettler-Toledo expects full-year earnings in the range of $33.35 to $33.40 per share.
