MHP SE Announces the Production and Sales Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended 30 June 2018

MHP SE announced the production and sales results for the second quarter and six months ended 30 June 2018. For the second quarter, the company announced the Poultry production volumes increased by 7% to 155,725 tonnes against of 145,820 tonnes in second quarter of 2017.
For the first half of 2018, the company announced the Poultry production volumes increased by 7% to 307,890 tonnes against of 287,694 tonnes in second quarter of 2017.
For the first half of 2018, the company's third parties sales amounted to 288,437 tonnes of poultry, which is 2% higher than in first half of 2017, driven mainly by growth in exports. sunflower oil exports constituted 148,104 tonnes, which is 11% lower year-over-year. soybean oil exports were 31,621 tonnes, 121% higher year-on-year, due to low base in the relevant periods in 2017. Sales volume, third parties of Meat-processing products was 16,969 tonnes against of 17,250 tonnes a year ago. Sales volume, third parties of Convenience food was 8,126 tonnes compared to 5,799 tonnes a year ago.
For the second quarter of 2018, the volume of chicken meat exports totaled 70,145 tonnes and remained almost stable compared to the second quarter of 2017 volume of 71,332 tonnes. The company's sales of sunflower oil increased by 19% to 100,598 tonnes compared to 84,880 tonnes in second quarter of 2017. Soybean oil exports were at 13,366 tonnes, 105% higher year-on-year. Sales volume, third parties of Meat-processing products was 8,798 tonnes against of 8,990 tonnes a year ago. Sales volume, third parties of Convenience food was 4,283 tonnes compared to 3,581 tonnes a year ago.
MHP SE is an agro-industrial holding company. The Company focuses on the production of poultry and cultivation of grain. The Company's segments are Poultry and related operations, Grain growing operations and Other agricultural operations. The Poultry and related operations segment is engaged in producing and selling chicken products, vegetable oil, soybean oil and mixed fodder. It includes over four chicken and approximately two breeder farms, over two sunflower oil plants and a soya crushing plant, over four feed mills and food facilities. The Grain growing operations segment is engaged in growing crops for fodder and for sale to third parties on over 360,000 hectares of land, including arable farms and grain storage facilities in plastic bags. The Other agricultural operations segment is engaged in producing and selling sausages and cooked meat, beef, goose and foie gras, and fruit. It includes a mixed farm, a goose farm and over two facilities for producing meat products.
